Documents Required for a Business Loan in India

Most business loan delays come from missing or inconsistent documents. Keeping this checklist ready before you apply can cut days off the process.

KYC

  • PAN and Aadhaar of the proprietor, all partners or all directors
  • Business PAN
  • Address proof of the business premises

Business proof

  • GST registration certificate
  • Udyam registration certificate
  • Partnership deed, or MOA/AOA and certificate of incorporation for companies
  • Shop and establishment licence or trade licence where applicable

Financials

  • Two to three years of ITR with computation of income
  • Audited or CA-certified P&L and balance sheet
  • GST returns for the last 12 months
  • 12 months of statements for all current accounts
  • Details of existing loans with sanction letters and repayment schedules

For secured loans

Complete title chain of the property, approved building plan, latest property tax receipt, and an encumbrance certificate where the lender asks for one.

  • Submitting ITRs without computation and financials
  • Leaving out GST returns or current account statements
